​​Tirzepatide (generic for Mounjaro®- name brand for treating diabetes and Zepbound®-name brand for treating obesity) is an injectable medication with a dual action using both GLP-1 and GIP incretin hormones, which are hormones that are released after eating. Tirzepatide works by mimicking their effects including telling the pancreas to release insulin after eating and signaling the liver to lower the amount of glucose it's making, which helps lower blood sugar, and slow digestion. Additionally lowering the risk of heart attack, stroke and cancer. Along with a reduced calorie diet and increased exercise, patients with obesity and weight-related medical problems achieved 20-25% weight loss with compounded Tirzepatide + Cyanocobalamin (B12).
